Mr. Barnard began working as a substitute teacher for Veritas Academy in January 2019. He has many years of experience as a volunteer tutor and has taught ESL to refugees. After retiring from a career in federal law enforcement, Mark returned to college in 2011 and completed his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology at the University of Arizona. He spent 4½ years working in Family Services, including 2½ years as a Foster Care Coach.
He is passionate about the value of memorizing scripture from an early age. In his free time, Mark enjoys reading, hiking and swimming, and can be found searching for treasures at yard sales and estate sales on Saturday mornings. Mark is single and has a 30-year-old son, Cory. He is a member of Rincon Mountain Presbyterian Church.
